Story Prologue
In the vast expanse of uncharted territories, where the boundaries of reality and imagination blurred, the TARDIS appeared with its characteristic wheezing and groaning. The Eighth Doctor, a dapper figure in his distinctive attire, stepped out onto the alien landscape of a world unlike any he had ever encountered. His journey here was not by choice but a result of an unexpected temporal rift, and he found himself amidst a conflict of galactic proportions.
A war of titanic scale was unfolding, with the authoritarian Peacekeepers on one side and the formidable Scarran Empire on the other. The very fabric of the universe trembled under the weight of their power struggles, and entire civilizations hung precariously in the balance.
As the Doctor assessed the grim situation, he felt an unshakable responsibility to bring peace to this tumultuous region of space. The Time Lord had a history of intervening in conflicts across time and space, and this was no exception. But he knew he couldn't do it alone.
Meanwhile, aboard a living spaceship known as Moya, John Crichton and its motley crew found themselves caught in the crossfire of this interstellar war. Crichton, the astronaut who had been flung into the far reaches of the galaxy by a wormhole experiment gone awry, had become an unwitting player in this high-stakes game of power.
As Moya drifted through the cosmos, carrying a diverse crew of aliens and outcasts, their lives were intertwined with the fate of the Peacekeepers and Scarrans. It was a struggle for survival, and the crew of Moya, despite their differences, had forged a bond that was unbreakable.
The Doctor and Moya's crew were on a collision course, as their destinies became intertwined in the unfolding drama of war and peace. With the Doctor's knowledge of diplomacy and Moya's resourceful crew, they held the key to a resolution that could save countless lives and bring an end to the chaos engulfing the uncharted territories.
Little did they know that their partnership would be a test of their resilience, wit, and compassion, and that their journey would take them to the heart of the conflict, where they would face not only political intrigue but also ancient powers that threatened to reshape the very nature of reality itself.
And so, as the TARDIS materialized on alien soil and Moya traversed the cosmos in search of answers, the Doctor and Moya's crew were about to embark on an adventure that would push the boundaries of time and space, and bring hope to a universe teetering on the edge of chaos.
Act 1 John and the Flashback Factor
Prymat stood in the dimly lit chamber of Moya, her eyes fixed on the injured figure of John Crichton, who lay on a makeshift bed. Blood streaked his face, and he appeared battered and bruised. Water dripped from a cracked pipe, echoing the tension that hung in the air. Moya, the living spaceship, bore the scars of the recent conflict, with sparks flying from damaged conduits, adding to the sense of unease.
Aeryn's voice cut through the darkness, her words heavy with both relief and despair. "You did it, John. All the fighting has stopped. There's no more dying." Her voice trembled with emotion as she continued, "And all of a sudden, three is not such a scary number. But no matter how wonderful this is, I will not accept it as a trade-off for losing you."
Prymat, a witness to the turmoil and triumph that had unfolded, could only stand silently, her gaze fixed on John's unconscious form. The cost of peace weighed heavily on those who had fought, and the crew of Moya had seen their fair share of battles. In the midst of this quiet moment, as the injured astronaut lay in their midst, the true price of their newfound respite was painfully clear.
Amidst the backdrop of a majestic ringed planet, a breathtaking celestial vista unfolded. A fleet of menacing Scarran ships, their reptilian design exuding power and menace, hovered in space like an impending storm. Their forces were formidable, a testament to the Scarran Empire's military might.
On the other side of the cosmic chessboard, a fleet of sleek and efficient Nova Corp ships, aligned with the Peacekeepers, prepared for an all-out assault. Peacekeeper ships, with their sleek and angular designs, formed a formidable squadron ready for battle.
The tension in space was palpable as the two opposing fleets clashed in a fierce and chaotic battle. Blasts of energy, fiery explosions, and the disintegration of Scarran ships filled the void of space. The Nova Corp ships and Peacekeeper vessels moved with precision and strategy, determined to break the Scarran forces.
The cacophony of war raged on, and in a dramatic turn of events, a Scarran Dreadnought, once an imposing symbol of their power, was obliterated in a blinding burst of energy. Debris scattered like stars in a supernova, and the tides of battle shifted.
As the flames of conflict raged on in the vastness of space, it was clear that the stakes were high, and the cost of war was immeasurable. The galaxy held its breath as this pivotal battle unfolded, setting the stage for the events that would shape the destiny of all involved.
Act 2 John and Aryen Sun are Restored the debut of the Eidelons
On the mystical world of Qujaga, where water held the power of restoration, Rygel, the Dominar of Hyneria, found himself submerged in the crystal-laden sea. Swimming amidst the glistening gems, he greedily collected them and swallowed them one by one. As he gathered the precious crystals, a sense of urgency gripped him.
Moments later, Rygel's rotund form bobbed to the surface, and his cries for help were heard. Ka D'Argo, the towering Luxan warrior, reached out and hauled the plump Hynerian aboard the TARDIS, which had materialized on the shore.
Inside the TARDIS, the enigmatic Noranti was present, along with two aliens who bore an eerie resemblance to the beings who had crystallized John Crichton and Aeryn Sun. Rygel, still reeling from his aquatic escapade, couldn't resist a snarky comment. "So often I've proclaimed having a belly full of Crichton and Aeryn. Never thought it'd be so literal," he mused before promptly throwing up.
Curiosity piqued, one of the aliens asked Noranti about the species to which the crystallized forms belonged. With an eccentric flair, Noranti picked up one of the crystals, licked it, and identified it as Crichton, a "hoo-man." Then, with a peculiar gesture, she did the same with another crystal, revealing it to be Aeryn, a Sebacean.
Rygel confirmed to D'Argo that he had collected all the pieces, boasting about sifting through the sandy seabed with his bare hands. "Look at my nails!" he proudly proclaimed, showing off his manicure.
Back on their vessel, one of the aliens, Caa'ta, alerted the other to the return of Moya, the Leviathan ship, and the approaching transport. Caa'ta promptly ordered the concealment canopy to be lowered as they approached an enigmatic island.
Meanwhile, aboard Scorpius' command carrier, the ever-cunning Scorpius engaged in a tense communication with Grand Chancellor Maryk of the Peacekeeper Strategic Command. Maryk's anger was palpable as he questioned Scorpius about the phrase "pre-emptive attack" found in the orders. Scorpius, cool and collected as always, argued that the Scarrans were gearing up for a conflict that the Peacekeepers couldn't win, so he acted to challenge them while they were unprepared.
Maryk, still furious, reminded Scorpius that his mission was to gather surveillance, not initiate an attack. Scorpius, unyielding, refused to comply with their terms or Maryk's. The communication took a dire turn as Maryk informed Scorpius that the Scarran Empire had declared war against the Peacekeepers. The weight of this revelation hung heavily in the air, signaling the beginning of a war that would define an era. Scorpius, with his steely resolve, acknowledged the gravity of the situation. "We are now officially engaged in the last war of our era! Congratulations."
Moya's transport gracefully landed on the planet's surface, where the Eighth Doctor and D'Argo awaited their arrival. The transport's hatch opened, and Chiana leaped out with youthful exuberance, right into D'Argo's strong arms. She shared the joyful news that the Diagnosan had granted her new eyes, restoring her vision.
As Stark emerged from the transport pod, a Diagnosan fell out behind him. D'Argo, puzzled by the Diagnosan's condition, questioned what was wrong. To his surprise, Grunchlk, a familiar and untrustworthy face, reassured him that there was nothing wrong with the Diagnosan, and that he was perfectly fine. D'Argo, stunned by this revelation, expressed his belief that Grunchlk had been dead, to which Grunchlk nonchalantly retorted, "Hardly at all."
Inside a nearby building, Beldar assisted the Diagnosan in a delicate procedure. The Diagnosan carefully manipulated the crystallized forms of Crichton and Aeryn in a device, causing them to float in mid-air, gradually merging back together. Noranti, always protective of life, cautioned the Diagnosan to handle the crystals with care, as they represented people's lives.
D'Argo expressed concern about the success of the procedure, to which Grunchlk responded with a degree of self-assuredness, suggesting that they were fortunate to have the Diagnosan's expertise. Grunchlk informed the crew that the galaxy was in the midst of a war, a revelation that took them by surprise. D'Argo, inquiring about the nature of this war, received an explanation from Chiana: the Peacekeepers and Scarrans had declared war against each other, a conflict that was already consuming the galaxy.
Amidst the chaos of the war, at the Nova Corp HQ, Chief O, a female leader from the United Kingdom, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Agent M (Molly) monitored the ongoing battle between the space forces, their expressions reflecting the gravity of the situation.
In the depths of space, a Scarran vanguard had breached the Peacekeepers' defenses and was assaulting Scorpius' command carrier. Sikozu confirmed that they had drawn the Scarrans in and set the trap in motion. Over the communications system, Scorpius instructed Braca to initiate the plan as he had directed. Braca, now at the helm, ordered the pilots to turn off their navigation systems and fly manually. Sikozu explained that they needed to fly straight in, as the targeting telemetrics would be compromised by ambient magnetics.
Back on the water planet, Crichton and Aeryn found themselves restored to their physical forms, still in the passionate embrace they had been in when crystallized. As D'Argo and the others watched, the pair reached for their pulse pistols. However, they were interrupted by Caa'ta's order to lower their weapons. D'Argo informed them that it had been sixty solar days since they disappeared.
Aeryn inquired about their location, and Chiana replied that they were still on the water planet. Caa'ta reiterated the order to lower their weapons, prompting Crichton to ask, "Bad guys?" D'Argo responded, "Yes and no. They did help us put you back together." With tension in the air, Caa'ta issued a final warning.
Reluctantly, Crichton and Aeryn complied, handing over their pulse pistols. As they walked away, Crichton and Aeryn couldn't contain their excitement. Crichton blurted out, "You said yes!" Aeryn confirmed that she had accepted his proposal, and they shared the joyous news of their impending marriage. D'Argo and Chiana congratulated the happy couple, marking a moment of hope and celebration amidst the turmoil of a galaxy at war.
Act 3 John's Recap Story
On the command carrier, Braca acknowledged to Scorpius that he was correct – their pilots and guns were no match for the Peacekeeper squad. Scorpius signaled for silence and gave the order to prepare for withdrawal. Braca, in shock, questioned Scorpius about the decision, noting that they were winning. Sikozu affirmed that without the carrier, the remaining units would be destroyed. Scorpius was resolute and insisted that they had their orders, despite Braca's objections. "He is alive, Sikozu," Scorpius stated as he lifted her onto one of the controls. "John Crichton is alive."
Back on the water planet, Caa'ta urged Crichton to tell his story once more. Crichton began his tale, "Once upon a time, there was a boy named John. And John was an astronaut. He lived in a faraway place called Earth, which is so far away, you've never heard of it." As he recounted his journey, he described how a wormhole had whisked him to the far end of the universe, where he met the living ship Moya and forged deep friendships, along with finding his dream girl.
The story took a dark turn as Crichton narrated the hardships they had faced at the hands of the Peacekeepers, who had pursued and tormented them relentlessly. He explained that just two months ago, the Scarrans had attacked, and they had sought refuge on the water planet, believing it to be a safe haven.
As the tale continued, the aliens listening to Crichton's story appeared confused and puzzled. However, the Doctor, aboard the TARDIS, watched the unfolding scene on a monitor with tears of joy in his eyes. The screen showed Aeryn in a boat, with Crichton proposing and Aeryn accepting. The Doctor was witnessing a moment of happiness and unity amid the chaos of their lives.
On Maryk's command carrier, a member of the Peacekeeper crew reported that Scorpius had powered down his homing beacon, rendering him untrackable. In response, Maryk issued a chilling order of the highest priority: any sighting of Scorpius' command carrier should result in immediate firing, without hailing or offering surrender. Maryk was determined to erase Scorpius and all those with him from existence.
Commandant Grayza, heavily pregnant, expressed her views to Maryk, highlighting Scorpius' complex nature. She acknowledged his many flaws but questioned whether cowardice was one of them. Maryk, resolute in his decision, maintained that Scorpius had initiated the war and then fled. Grayza urged him to consider her counsel carefully, pointing out that Scorpius' unrelenting hatred of the Scarrans might be indicative of another, deeper motive. Despite her words, Maryk's orders remained unchanged, setting the stage for a perilous conflict between the Peacekeepers and the Scarrans.
Act 4 Maybe Rygel is carrying our baby wait what?
In a quiet corner of the strange planet, the Eighth Doctor stood beside Aeryn Sun, who was being examined by the enigmatic Diagnosan, while John Crichton held her hand with concern etched across his face.
Crichton leaned in, his voice filled with affection and determination. "We're done, Aeryn. We're checking out. Next Ferengi we see, we run, no questions later. From this moment on, my one concern, my life, is you and our baby."
The Diagnosan began to speak, prompting Grunchlk to act as translator. The alien's words shattered the hope that had just begun to blossom. Grunchlk relayed the harsh truth: the Diagnosan didn't understand what they were talking about, as there was no baby. Aeryn and Crichton were left stunned, grappling with the sudden loss of the future they had envisioned.
Aeryn, adamant that she had been pregnant, found herself in a state of disbelief. Crichton, however, had an epiphany. He recalled the ordeal of being crystallized into thousands of pieces, and the puzzle pieces began to fit together. They rushed to D'Argo, who revealed that Rygel had collected and carried up the pieces from the ocean floor.
With Rygel placed on the examination table, Grunchlk offered his congratulations for Rygel being pregnant, much to everyone's shock and disbelief. Aeryn and Crichton, in particular, were far from pleased, and Crichton seized Grunchlk, demanding that he remove the baby from Rygel and return it to Aeryn. The Diagnosan, however, refused, explaining that the baby couldn't be removed until the end of the first quadmester. Rygel, exasperated, could only request a drink.
Amidst the ensuing confusion, the crew of Moya gathered for a meal. Chiana, curious, asked Rygel what it felt like to have the baby in his stomach. Noranti joined the group, and Aeryn, wanting to know the truth, questioned Rygel about the experience. Rygel's description was far from comforting. "Like having a parasite, a large parasite that's growing," he said, leaving them with an unsettling image.
As the crew gathered around Rygel, the Eighth Doctor, using his trusty sonic screwdriver, began to scan the unusual anomaly or "baby" within Rygel. The device buzzed and whirred, analyzing the unexpected pregnancy in a rather surreal fashion.
After a moment of examination, the Doctor couldn't help but make a whimsical remark, "Well, this is quite the cosmic conundrum, isn't it? A pregnant Dominar. It's not something you see every day in the universe."
With a hint of playfulness in his eyes, the Doctor turned to John Crichton and Aeryn Sun, who were grappling with the bewildering turn of events. He offered a comforting assurance, "Rest assured, I'll do what I can as a Time Lord to help resolve this rather unique situation."
The crew of Moya looked to the Doctor, hoping that his time-traveling expertise might offer a glimmer of hope amidst the bizarre circumstances they found themselves in. The Doctor's presence, with his enigmatic charm and unwavering determination, was a beacon of reassurance in a galaxy teetering on the edge of conflict and uncertainty.
With his sonic screwdriver still in hand, the Doctor was prepared to embark on yet another extraordinary adventure, where the mysteries of time and space converged in unexpected ways.
As they discussed their situation, one of the local aliens approached, clearly displeased. Crichton inquired about their strained relations with the locals, and D'Argo explained that they were paranoid and ruled by fear.
Stark, however, delved deeper into the issue, sharing insights he had gained from talking with the locals. He explained that their fear was so pervasive that even speaking about it was taboo. D'Argo, urging caution, insisted they shouldn't stay longer, but Crichton expressed his reluctance to leave due to the impending Armageddon beyond the concealment canopy.
Amid the turmoil, Crichton and Aeryn decided to focus on the joyous event that had brought them together and announced their intention to get married, offering a glimmer of happiness in the midst of uncertainty.
On the lead Scarran ship, War Minister Ahkna delivered unsettling news to Emperor Staleek. They had received a deep space communication from an unexpected source regarding John Crichton. The sender possessed knowledge of Crichton's location and warned that the Peacekeepers had not yet captured him. Staleek recognized the significance of this information and decided to send a full battle contingent, not just for one man, but for the invaluable knowledge Crichton held. The stage was set for a confrontation that could alter the course of events in the galaxy.
Act 5 It's Scorpius Time Folks
Crichton tells one of the lead aliens, Muoma, that it's generous of her to marry them. Caa'ta, who follows them, says their petititon to remain on the planet has been denied, and on conclusion of the ceremony they will all leave. Crichton asks who they're hiding from, to which Caa'ta replies, "Everyone." Stark shouts that Aeryn is coming, so Crichton gets everyone in position. Noranti comes around the corner, throwing petals in front of Aeryn, who has a flower in her hair. "You look great!" Crichton says. "You owe me!" she replies. "I know." Muoma asks if there's a particular invocation they'd like her to use, to which Crichton begins to recite "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here...", but they're interrupted by the command carrier flying low. Muoma is distressed that they seem to know exactly where they are, despite the concealment canopy, but Caa'ta says they've been betrayed. As the aliens all get inside their temple, Crichton tells Stark and Noranti to go with them and convince them it's not the crew's fault. Aeryn tells Chiana to hid Rygel and guard him with her life. A small ship leaves the command carrier. Stark and Noranti hurry into the temple, when Noranti spots something on the side, saying it's familiar. When she gets inside the temple, she realises that the aliens are Eidelons.
The ship from the Carrier lands on the surface, and Scorpius and Sikozu step out. Scorpius apologises if this is a bad time, but says they need to talk. He signals that he found Crichton using their mental link.
Crichton goes inside his head, where Harvey is dressed as Einstein writing complicated equations on a blackboard. Crichton asks how Scorpius found him, to which Harvey says Scorpius is like god. "He does not play dice with the universe." He says that Scorpius' mysteries unravel slowly but everyone knows what he's really after; a wormhole, and in Crichton's case, the wormhole weapon. Crichton says he can find wormholes, navigate them even, but cannot make a wormhole weapon. Harvey says that is true, but he does know where to obtain the knowledge. John writes an obscene message on the blackbord, telling him to make sure Scorpius gets that message.
Scorpius asks Crichton how he's been, saying he has been busy. Scorpius says that the Scarrans will prevail in the war unless he helps them build a wormhole weapon. Crichton says that there's only two problems, that he can't do it and that he doesn't think the Peacekeepers are any better than the Scarrans. Scorpius says that he will find no serenity during this conflict, and tells Crichton to examine his choices. "You're not listening. Wormholes, no. Weapons, no. Killing, no. Crichton, no!" he replies.
Crichton is again in the same position, lying injured on a bed on Moya as at the beginning of the episode. We hear Crichton's voice. "You wanna see it? The thing you've been chasing my ass all over the universe for? Torturing me, my wife, my friends for? You wanna see it?" "Yes," replies Scorpius in the voice over. "Say please." "Please." "Pretty please," Crichton says. "Pretty please," Scorpius replies. "With cherries on top." "With a cherry on top," Scorpius says. "Happy birthday, now get out of my sight."
D'Argo returns to the planet, greeted by an erratic Stark, saying "Eidelons, Jool, Arnessk, peace!" He tongues Stark, and asks Noranti what he's talking about, but she says the same thing. He asks Muoma, who tells him that they are the last Eidelons, as all others were hunted to extinction. Their ancestors possessed the means to influence peace, but it has not survived to their generation. Caa'ta says that thousands of cycles ago, their ancestors' temple had shifted into another dimension and they vanished without a trace. Muoma says that Arnessk was the centre of their spiritual power, where there was a temple upon which the building they are in was modelled. She says that today, Arnessk is lifeless, but D'Argo says they have been there.
From Moya, Pilot shows the 8th Doctor, Aeryn and Crichton the images of Arnessk that Jool gave them before they left. Noranti explains to Aeryn, who was not present when Moya's crew last encountered them, that the ancient Eidelons were believed to be dead for 12,000 cycles, however they were actually suspended in time, and when they reversed the device holding them, they came back into existence. She says that there's no doubt today's Eidelons are a direct descendent of the peace-making Eidelons of Arnessk. She says the ability to influence peace is latent in these Eidelons, and suggests that the ancient Eidelons could re-ignite this power in the current group.
Crichton asks Aeryn if he's going insane, because the crazy lady is starting to make sense. Aeryn says she thought they were finished, but Crichton says that it's because of Scorpius. If they run, he will find them before they wake up. "This is not our fight," Aeryn says. Crichton agrees, but says as long as there's a war everyone will be after him because he has the knowledge of the weapon that would easily win the war for either side. "You know every time we get involved..." Aeryn begins. "I know, people die," Crichton says. He asks Aeryn what the odds are of the Eidelon plan working, but she says not good. "Not good is the best odds we ever got," he replies, knowing that this slim chance is still a better option that giving the wormhole weapon to the Peacekeepers.
Scene 5 - Continued:
Amidst the serene surroundings of the alien planet, Crichton expressed his gratitude to Muoma for agreeing to marry him and Aeryn. Their hopeful moment was short-lived when Caa'ta, who had followed them, delivered the news that their petition to remain on the planet had been denied, and they would have to leave after the ceremony. Curiosity tugged at Crichton as he asked who they were hiding from, and Caa'ta's cryptic response was simply, "Everyone."
The crew members quickly prepared for the ceremony, positioning themselves as Aeryn approached, adorned with a flower in her hair. Crichton couldn't help but compliment her, to which she cheekily replied, "You owe me." Muoma, the alien officiant, inquired if they had a specific invocation in mind. Crichton began reciting, "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here…" but their moment of joy was abruptly interrupted by the ominous sight of the Peacekeeper command carrier flying low.
Muoma, clearly distressed, questioned how the command carrier had found them despite the concealment canopy. Caa'ta suggested that they had been betrayed, prompting the aliens to hurry into their temple for shelter.
With urgency in the air, Crichton instructed Stark and Noranti to accompany the aliens and explain to them that the crew of Moya wasn't responsible for the unwanted intrusion. Aeryn, equally determined, told Chiana to protect Rygel and guard him with her life.
As Stark and Noranti entered the temple, Noranti noticed something familiar on the side. Upon closer examination, she realized the true identity of the aliens they had encountered – they were Eidelons.
Back on the Peacekeeper command carrier, Scorpius and Sikozu disembarked. Scorpius, offering a polite apology for the inconvenient timing, asserted that they needed to have a conversation. He signaled that he had located Crichton using their mental link.
In Crichton's mind, he encountered Harvey, who had taken on the guise of Einstein, scribbling complex equations on a blackboard. Crichton, curious about how Scorpius had found him, received a cryptic response from Harvey, likening Scorpius to a god who didn't play dice with the universe. Harvey pointed out that Scorpius had his own mysteries and objectives, namely a wormhole, and the wormhole weapon in Crichton's case.
In a display of defiance, Crichton wrote an obscene message on the blackboard and urged Harvey to ensure that Scorpius received the message. Outside his mind, Crichton refused Scorpius's proposal, asserting that he would not help build a wormhole weapon.
The scene shifted back to Crichton, who lay injured on a bed on Moya, the same position as at the beginning of the episode. In a voiceover, Crichton playfully taunted Scorpius, asking him if he wanted to see the thing he had been relentlessly pursuing across the universe. The tension between them was palpable as Scorpius responded with a hesitant "Yes," and Crichton added a final, whimsical twist by demanding, "Pretty please, with a cherry on top." Scorpius obliged, and the confrontation ended with Crichton's decisive, "Happy birthday, now get out of my sight."
D'Argo returned to the planet, where he was met by an agitated Stark, who uttered disjointed phrases about Eidelons, Jool, Arnessk, and peace. D'Argo was perplexed and sought answers, but Noranti and Muoma repeated similar phrases. The crew was increasingly concerned about the significance of these words.
Pilot, on Moya, showed the Eighth Doctor, Aeryn, and Crichton the images of Arnessk that Jool had provided before they departed. Noranti explained to Aeryn, who had not been present for the previous encounter with the Eidelons, that the ancient Eidelons had been presumed dead for 12,000 cycles. However, they had been suspended in time, and when the device containing them was reversed, they returned to existence.
With the images, Noranti proposed that the Eidelons possessed latent abilities to influence peace and hoped to rekindle this power within the current generation.
Crichton turned to Aeryn, contemplating the strangeness of their situation. He asked her if he was going insane because, bizarrely enough, the crazy lady's theory started to make sense to him. Aeryn, who had hoped their adventures were over, expressed her reluctance to become embroiled in another conflict.
Crichton acknowledged the truth in her words, but he also recognized the consequences of the ongoing war. He had knowledge of the wormhole weapon, which made him a target for both the Peacekeepers and the Scarrans. He conceded, "You know every time we get involved...," to which Aeryn completed his thought, "I know, people die." Despite the risks, they understood that their involvement was necessary to prevent a catastrophe, and they clung to the slim chance offered by the Eidelons' plan.
Act 6 Loki's Escape and the Tesserect
In a bustling, Earthly city, Loki, the former Asgardian prince, was being escorted by a group of mysterious agents. As they moved through the busy streets, a sudden and chaotic distraction erupted. It was precisely the opportunity Loki had been waiting for. With an agile and cunning move, he managed to snatch the Tesseract, a powerful cosmic artifact, from the agents' possession.
As Loki made his escape, he activated the Tesseract, hoping to use its space-bending powers to disappear to another location. However, the use of such a powerful cosmic artifact was far from predictable, and an unforeseen anomaly occurred. Instead of landing in his intended destination, Loki found himself in a much different and unfamiliar environment.
To his surprise, Loki suddenly materialized within the TARDIS, a time and space-traveling ship. The Doctor, an enigmatic Time Lord, stood there, recognizing Loki from his distinctive appearance and reputation.
Quick to act, the Doctor employed a time dilation device, freezing Loki in place. Time seemed to stand still for the Asgardian trickster as the Doctor seized this opportunity to question him. With a mixture of curiosity and concern, the Doctor inquired about Loki's presence and his intentions.
While Loki remained frozen, the Doctor discovered the true nature of the cosmic artifact Loki had stolen – the Tesseract was, in fact, a Space Stone, one of the powerful Infinity Stones that held immense cosmic power.
As the Doctor assessed the situation and Loki's motives, the Tesseract rested within his grasp, the space-bending artifact with the potential to shape the destiny of the universe. The encounter between the Time Lord and the Asgardian misfit had just taken an unexpected turn, and the fate of the Tesseract and Loki's future hung in the balance.
The Doctor, still holding Loki in the time dilation field, gazed at the Asgardian with a mix of curiosity and concern. "Loki," the Doctor began, "I couldn't help but notice your little... adventure here. What brings you to the TARDIS, and what's the latest news from Asgard and your dear brother, Thor?"
Loki, with his characteristic smirk, replied, "Well, Doctor, let's just say that Asgard is no more. It was destroyed, thanks to the fiery cataclysm of Ragnarok. As for Thor, I'm afraid I've lost track of him. Sibling rivalries can be so... turbulent."
The Doctor's expression shifted from curiosity to one of genuine sympathy for Loki's loss. "I'm sorry to hear that, Loki. Losing a home is a tragedy no one should have to endure."
As the Doctor continued to study the Tesseract, a moment of realization washed over him. "This artifact you've stolen, the Tesseract," he mused, "It's no ordinary object, is it? It's the Space Stone, one of the powerful Infinity Stones. But what's most intriguing is that it bears a striking resemblance to a technology that once belonged to the Time Lords."
Loki's eyes widened, realizing the Doctor's depth of knowledge. "Ah, so you've recognized it, Doctor. Yes, it's the Space Stone, a relic of immense power. As for its origins, it seems our paths have crossed more than I thought."
The Doctor's eyes narrowed as he continued to examine the Tesseract. "It's more than a mere relic, Loki. The Time Lords once possessed a similar device, used to manipulate the fabric of time and space. It was in our possession during the Time War. The fall of Gallifrey led to the dispersal of such technology, and it seems one of them ended up in your hands."
A profound silence filled the TARDIS as the Doctor and Loki exchanged knowing glances, understanding the significance of the Space Stone and the potential consequences of its misuse. The encounter between a Time Lord and an Asgardian had revealed a connection that transcended time and space, and the fate of the Space Stone hung in the balance.
Act 7 Attack of the Tregans
On Maryk's command carrier, the Grand Chancellor is in a conversation with Commandant Grayza, feeling the movement of her unborn child. He acknowledges their dire situation – outnumbered, outgunned, and a population that's unaccustomed to hardship. Maryk suggests the idea of a truce, sensing the hopelessness of their war effort.
Grayza, however, dismisses the notion of a truce with the Scarrans, emphasizing that they would only accept unconditional surrender. She imparts her wisdom, explaining that surrender should only be considered when all seems truly lost, and she ends her statement with a haunting definition of surrender, "A military leader that broaches surrender."
With a sinister and calculating air, Grayza proceeds to prepare a drink for Maryk, but this drink is laced with poison. As Maryk takes a sip, he begins to experience the devastating effects of the poison, his strength waning. Grayza harshly tells him that he is weak and no longer deserving of his role as a Peacekeeper.
Ahkna, on the Scarran ship, informs Emperor Staleek about Crichton's departure from the water planet and their destination. Staleek is intrigued and realizes that Crichton may hold the key to ending the conflict. However, the specifics of Crichton's plan, and whether it involves the wormhole weapon, remain unclear.
